This made-to-measure bookcase in Caversham was designed to transform a plain living room wall into a functional, characterful feature. Built to fit the space exactly, the unit includes multiple fixed shelves with a white-painted internal top panel to reflect light and create a sense of height.

Integrated LED downlights were installed in the upper section to illuminate the shelves and bring focus to books and decorative items. The unit was painted in a rich green tone that contrasts beautifully with the ceiling detail.

Skirting boards were carefully matched and scribed into the joinery to blend the joinery into the room seamlessly, giving the impression of a built-in architectural feature. This project combines thoughtful design, precision joinery and practical lighting to deliver a bookcase that is both visually striking and fully functional.
