This project at Newbury Racecourse involved constructing the base structure for an outdoor bar, built to withstand heavy use and the elements. We worked from a steel frame, cutting and fitting plywood panels to create strong, even fixing points for the external cladding, which was completed by our sub-contractors.
To form the roof, we installed ceiling joists and topped them with OSB boards to create a solid deck. A durable EPDM rubber membrane was then added for long-lasting, weatherproof protection. We also fitted a door to the rear storage area, ensuring the space was secure and easy to access during busy events.
The structure was built with efficiency and durability in mind, providing a strong foundation for the external finish and ensuring the bar was ready to serve large crowds in a demanding environment.
